If you're looking for a high-quality, affordable large-format FDM printer, look no further than the ZYLtech gear. Competing with established printers like the Creality CR-10 and Artillery Sidewinder is a tall order, but ZYLtech has managed to produce a cheaper, higher quality printer that produces results just as good as some of the best alternatives.
The printer comes mostly assembled and setup is easy. Once dialed in, it's produced consistently solid results for me. It's not perfect, and there are improvements that can be made, but I'm quite pleased with my purchase and will be considering getting another in the future.
A couple notes for prospective buyers:
• Double-check the clearance on the left/ight sides of the hotend assembly to make sure that you get the full range of motion on the X axis
• Get a silicon sock for the hotend to help regulate nozzle temp
• Pick up some replacement fans, because they will go bad over time
Parts like these aren't necessary to get great prints out of the Gear, but they certainly help. Prospective buyers might also want to look into different print surface options; in my experience, the print surface that comes with the machine is TOO good at its job, and just doesn't like letting go of prints!
