Wood+ 5 Kg Spool

Our new Wood+ PLA 5kg rolls are here!  Wood+ absorbs stain more efficiently and you can even sand your prints. This allows you to expand the creativity and versatility of your wood PLA prints!

Go Texas Sized and Save!

Our Texas Sized rolls will save you around 12% over buying 5 separate spools!

Pro Tips:

  • Do expect wood+ PLA to have less flexibility than some of our other PLA when it is in it's filament form. (It is normal for it to snap when you bend the filament over)
  • We have had a lot of success printing at 225c
  • You CAN print with a .4 nozzle, but it is usually recommended to utilize a .5-.8mm nozzle for wood PLA.

  • Diameter: 1.75mm
  • Tolerance:  ±.05mm
  • Spool Dimensions:  11.5" x 6"

*Note 1kg Roll pictured with 5kg roll for comparison and not included

*Sample prints pictured depict the roll's natural color on left and stained with 1 coat of Red Mahogany on right.

*All colors for illustrative purposes only. Remember, we offer a 30 day money back guarantee for unopened filament - if you are unhappy with the shade of your filament, please contact us immediately to request a refund or replacement.

    Wood pla 5kg

Great wood filament. Sands and stains really well. Still experimenting with temp change to add more grain look without staining. Love the 5kg spools, just wish they had more colors

    Best wood filament I’ve used

Posted by Mark Bigley on Sep 18th 2020

I print with a lot of wood filament and this is by far the best that I’ve used. I’ve tried many brands and this is the best one. Much less stringing than typical wood filaments. Will buy again when I run out.

    Too bully

I didn’t know that I couldn’t use this for my 3D printer. I had to send it back and pay for shipping and handling which is very disappointing.

    Wood Plus

Posted by Cody on Aug 27th 2020

By Golly they did it! I've asked them to get this on 5kg spools. I've tried 5 different brands of wood filament, and this ties with Hatchbox for my favorite color/texture/printability, but it's less than half the price. It's a steal. I've used ~25kg of wood+ from Zyltech, and have another 15kg on hand. I love the matte texture, the disappearing layer lines, and how well it sands down and takes stain. 100% would recommend, Even better that I can now do my bigger prints without a filament change.
For print settings, I like to keep it about 210, with a 0.5mm nozzle (Don't go smaller, you'll likely clog at least once on a roll). I print about 50-80mm/s depending on geometry, and keep the parts cooling fan between 30 and 60%. Too much cooling will result in (easily removable) little stringy hairs.
