PLA wood plus 1KG is now made in USA in Five different colors

ZYLtech PLA Wood+: contains more wood (20% wt)  and will require a larger nozzle, (0.4mm is minimal size, 0.6mm or 0.8mm is preferred), to allow the wood fibers to pass through easily.  The high wood content and lighter base color makes it perfect for staining with various wood dyes or stains.

It is highly recommended to dry the filament before printing because of the hydrophilicity of wood fibers.

Recommended nozzle temps:  190°C – 240°C.

Tolerance:  ±0.02mm

    Very nice wood...

Posted by Paul Bussiere on Dec 13th 2025

First, I went through 6 spools of Redwood using the Orca "Generic PLA" setting using a hardened 0.4mm nozzle.

On spool 6, I encountered a clog that required replacing the nozzle.

That said, the guidance they offer here about using a larger than 0.4mm nozzle is really good advice! I should have used a 0.6mm hardened nozzle in hindsight. How I got away with it for so long, I'll never know!

You'll definitely smell the wood while printing and the texture is really great.
