Psychedelic Silk PLA 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm 1 kg 2.2 lbs

Please note, silk filament, in general, has weaker layer adhesion because of the additive that makes it shiny. It needs to be printed at higher temperature (around 210-220°C), slower speed and less part cooling. Increasing extrusion multiplier and infill/perimeters overlap also helps. However, even with these additional measures, silk filament is still better for aesthetic parts, instead of structural parts.

Your prints just got a little funkier with our new Psychedelic Silk.  This rainbow silk pla offers some very interesting transitions that can take your prints out of this world!

    Good but brittle

Posted by Josh on Feb 22nd 2022

I bought a roll of this specifically because I wanted to make a 200% twist container and have some beautiful colors while doing it with that said when I got it I immediately did a temp tower and found that 210c was the best temperature and I started doing some test prints as this was my first experience with zyltech filament and I ran into issues, anything delicate or that has small pieces would simply snap off I ended up having to slow my print speed to 40 mm a second and still their a little brittle. I'm unsure if this is just the roll I got or if this is just how it is, so keep that in mind. But if you're buying this because you want some cool color changing prints which means they will have to be big you wont have an issue and it comes out gorgeous.
    Already bought more.

    Good but not great

Posted by Scott on Jan 10th 2022

Typical PLA filament from Zyltech which prints amazing and is my go to brand! But....the colors used are not so much. The green colors look really off putting next to the orange/yellow/red and the runs between the colors is too long. You will need to do larger prints to really see the color change take effect or get lucky to hit that sweet spot on smaller prints. When it does go to a different color it is quite abrupt and was expecting a larger transition.

In short; they should look at other mfg's color palates, shorten the run between colors and have a longer transition period for a better gradient effect. It's a good filament but it's not great either. This is one filament that I would not buy again :(
