    Spool holder

The spool holder works great when set up properly. The first one I ordered had a couple bad bearings, but they sent some replacements out to me as soon as they found out, and they work great. I ordered another one shortly afterward and that one works perfectly as well. Highly recommend and is a MUST for their Texas sized spools.

Tricky to assemble until you know the "secret"

Posted by William Karkula on Jun 25th 2019

Works perfectly for the 5kg Texas filament spools. But what looked like a two minute assembly job turned out to be a 15 minute "oh I wish I had known that "secret" before I started" adventure. I carefully lined up the extrusions and bearings but the rollers did not turn very freely and one of the of the bearings was especially stiff and the bracket cockeyed when screwed down. Then it hit me: the bearings were press fit into the brackets and not properly aligned. Using one of the rollers as a lever inserting it just through the bearing hole, I was able to turn the press fit in bearing to be parallel with the bracket. I had to do this with three of the four bearings. You might also be able to tap them in place but the roller -as-lever worked for me. With everything now aligned, the rollers turned freely. Now you know the "secret" and can assemble this in two minutes. I knocked off a star for not sharing the "secret" in the assembly video.
